How cold does it get in the French Alps in January? We have a booked a winter holiday to Sainte Foy on the 5th of Jan, DD will be nearly two so want to know what to take for us all in the way of clothing!

Lots of layers, hat, fleece neckwarmer and maybe a balaclava, really good long cuff gloves and insulated snowboots, snowsuit. We've faced -17 in February. Assume freezing , biting winds, and be as snowproof as possible.

check out Tchibo atm they have basics in store (sold out online) including great gloves with long cuffs

It can vary from not really all that cold to unbelievably cold with biting wind, I would prepare for the latter.

Get thermals rather than wearing cotton t-shirts as a base layer.
