La Plagne advice needed

We’re off to La Plagne in early April for a week and I was hoping to get some advice on ski schools.

DC is 5 and has skied last year for first time. We were lucky as it was a small group- 4 children and 2 instructors for a week.
This time we’re going on our own so debating if we should do private lessons or go for group ones.

I’m after recommendations for ski schools and advice re private lessons or group. I’m keen to build confidence as quickly as possible hence the appeal of private lessons. Wonder if it’ll be too much though or if it’ll get boring or lonely.

Oxygène has been recommended but they have 10 per instructor which is feel is a bit too big.

We went to la Plagne last year but with Espirit. They use ESF. It was DS's first time on skis and he was 3, his confidence by the end of the week was great.

We came back from La Plagne on Saturday, we’re a family of four and similar abilities so had some private group lessons with Reflex, which is a small ski school. The instruction was amazing and it’s small which appealed. ESF groups are huge, we could regularly see groups of 12-14 children with one instructor which is pretty offputting, additionally if you’re at the back there’s not much instruction. We’ve also used Oxygene for ski school which has smaller groups - 8 ish from memory, they were really good. It’s a catch 22 as I definitely think my children improved more with private lessons but with one it could be a bit boring?

Ive been really impressed with BASS in other resorts, not sure if they're at La Plagne. I would never put an English dc in ESF, they're brutal!

We used Evolution 2 last year but was down in Montchavin. They were great but we had a private instructor for our group of kids so around 6 of them. I'd probably go ski school rather than private at that age as likely to be more fun?

Thanks all.
I’ve heard good things about Oxygène but they have come back to me to say it’s one of the busiest weeks in La Plagne so they’re groups are 10 to 1 instructor. I think this will be too big so going to have to look at private lessons I think.

I want to avoid ESF at all costs as they have huge groups and heard lots of bad things about them losing children.

I’ll contact Reflex and see what they can offer.

Never heard a bad word said about New Gen or Evo 2 (in general not just La Plagne)

We've found NEwGen really good too and small groups
