Advice on equipment hire

So I’m taking DH on a skiing holiday this week, he’s never been, I’m Scandi and grew up on the slopes. Mainly I ski when I visit my home town and he’s not joined me that much in the winter so he just hasn’t had a chance to try it yet.
He’s always wanted to learn to snowboard, so I booked him snowboarding lessons and hired the equipment in the resort.
Here’s where I start to worry, I HATE snowboarding, could never get on with it, was utterly awful at it. As a teen I kept thinking I was cool and would always sign up to go snowboarding, give it an hour and swap back to my beloved carvers.
What if he doesn’t like it either? How flexible are the rentals on the continent (Italy), will they let him swap to skis if snowboards not his thing?

Ok, that was long, thanks for reading

Did lots of this with kids as they flitted between skis and boards. Very common and the shops usually very flexible as long as covers additional costs.

My son does both and swaps between the two depending on conditions. Ski hire shops are very flexible.
