Hi. We are booked to go to Flaine in half term. We are staying in Hameau. Kids are having ESF lessons from Flaine Forum. If possible, I'd like to keep our ski stuff in lockers at Forum and go back and forth to Hameau wearing snow boots. It'll save the moaning from carrying skis and boots at the beginning and end of the day.

Can anyone tell me how I go about reserving a locker and how many lockers we'll need for 3 adults and 3 children.

I'll be hiring the kids skis. Are there lockets available to hire in the ski shops?

Also, I'm a bit confused about which pass to buy for the children. They are beginners, but can already link their snow plough turns and I expect them to progress pretty quickly in the week.

TIA

You'd probably need 2 lockers. I'd suggest you book your skis & boots in advance and ask the shop if they have lockers you can rent, or if you can leave rented gear with them overnight free of charge, or where the closest public lockers are. Perhaps ESF could advise which lockers are closest to where the lessons start

Re lift passes, if your kids can already do snow plough turns, then I wouldn't class them as beginners. If you buy a Flaine lift pass, they'll only be able to ski in Flaine. For an extra few Euros per day, I'd go for the Grand Massif pass, so they can ski in all the resorts

Hi OP, I'm just back from Morillon which is also in the Grand Massif area. I can't help with the lockers but wanted to mention the ski pass. It's definitely worth getting the full GM pass - I upgraded from the 4 Villages to the full pass so we could ski from Morillon to Flaine. The ESF lessons are also great. I had beginner lessons and at the end of the week I was doing parallel turns and got over to Flaine and back which I didn't think would happen! Have a brilliant time, we loved the Grand Massif Smile

We went to Flaine last year, but stayed in Flaine Foret.
My ds (5.5) was skiing blues fairly well and there was plenty for him to do on the Flaine pass. Older children might do more, but with hot chocolate and lunch stops (and swapping parents for ds2) there wasn't really time to go further afield.
The shuttle buses were quite frequent, and the lifts up from Forum to Foret are quite fun.
