Anyone else getting really excited about the upcoming season? I know it's a bit early but there's tonnes of snow falling in the French Alps and the Dolomites at the moment!

We're off to Italy at New Year which we know really well and Andorra for half term which we've never been to before. Can not wait!!

Yes, I’m looking forward to new year break too! Booked our flights to Geneva at end of September. They have more than doubled in price since. Eek!

Now just trying to decide which resort. Was gonna wait til mid December, but if I could find a good deal now, I might commit.

pepperup · 13/11/2019 14:34

Yes. keep looking at various webcams. Bit sad to spend entire fall season waiting for 1-2 weeks, but there you go!!

Expressedways · 13/11/2019 15:54

We’re going to Keystone NEXT WEEKEND! Only a few runs open but DH has to be in Denver for work that week anyway so we figured why not!

Yeahyeahyeahyeeeeah · 13/11/2019 16:25

Me me me me!

Yeahyeahyeahyeeeeah · 13/11/2019 16:26

Austria HT and Italy with friends. We have been on snow watch. Very excited

inwood · 13/11/2019 17:54

@Expressedways I think denver winter park is open even if you don't get keystone.

Oh I'm not jealous AT ALL!!!!!

Expressedways · 13/11/2019 19:21

Thanks for the tip! This early in the season I’m grateful for any snow we can get.

massistar · 13/11/2019 20:54

Oh wow @Expressedways ! Very jealous indeed!

We don't live far from the Dolomites. Our skis went in for a service this week. Hoping to be skiing next weekend!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 15/11/2019 16:19

Italy at Christmas. DH and kids very excited. I'm hoping to survive another season... But DH has said it's the last year I'll need to ski as the girls should be able to keep up with him next year and not need ski school.

massistar · 16/11/2019 10:27

Oooh whereabouts @NearlySchoolTimeAgain ? My DH is from Venice so we go to the Dolomites every year!

massistar · 16/11/2019 10:28

Do you not enjoy it @Aroundtheworldin80moves ? My DS overtook me about 5 years ago. Still just about keeping up with DD!

I'm happy on nursery slopes. And on familiar blues. But I have panic attacks on bigger slopes. DH has finally come to the conclusion I'm impossible to teach and he's a qualified instructor.
DDs are 6&8... DD1 overtook me two years ago. DD2 last year.

Catty99 · 16/11/2019 12:08

Can see snowy tips from my window! (I live in Europe). Really hoping it lasts and sets the foundation for a fab season of snow 🤞🏻

massistar · 16/11/2019 15:19

Aw that's a shame Around.. Do you enjoy being in the mountains anyway? I'm the least competent out of the 4 of us but I can get down pretty much anything on my board these days and I just love being outdoors and everything around skiing so much! I learnt as an adult and don't think I'll ever achieve the confidence that people who have skied since they were kids have!

Taking the skis for their pre-season tune up today- so excited! I’m hoping that we can get the toddler skiing this year, she did one lesson last year as part of the Vail daycare programme but she wasn’t even 2 so we had issues persuading her to try it on our local hill.

NearlySchoolTimeAgain · 16/11/2019 19:25

We're living near Padova @massistar

We were in Venice last weekend - such a shame to see the damage caused by the floods.

Our local river is on high alert for flooding but we can see more snow on the mountains by the day.

This is our closest ski area. We can get there on a school day - we drop the kids off at half 8 and are on the slopes at 10!

Yeahyeahyeahyeeeeah · 19/11/2019 06:36

massistar · 19/11/2019 10:12

Has anyone got a good app for snow watch?

OP posts:
NCTDN · 22/11/2019 22:28

Op where in andorra are you going?

massistar · 24/11/2019 15:43

We're going to Pas De La Casa.

highheelsandweathercocks · 14/12/2019 21:10

Very excited! And we're novices so I have that beginner excitement. According to my Alexa its 17 days until our dry slope lesson and 56 until we go to Austria.

I've been watching the resort on the bergfex app and am excited to see that there's now snow (it was also really pretty on the webcams over summer).

massistar · 14/12/2019 22:31

We'll be on the slopes 2 weeks today!

Beyond excited and it's snowing madly everywhere!
