Inspiration for New Year

I keep recommending the Portes du Soleil to everyone on this forum. However, we have been there 6 times over last 3 years. Needing a change!

We’ve got our Geneva flights booked 😅. Prices have gone up massively in last week or so. So all we need is somewhere to stay. Don’t fancy long/expensive airport transfer. Any recommendations anyone? Intermediate skiing blues/reds fine by me. A few black runs for son and DH.

Don't know if it will fit your dates but Skiweekender is based in between La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand or has hotels in each location. La Clusaz looks like it would fit your needs and is less than an hour from Geneva airport.

I have to say going high is always my criteria for NY, but that’s always a drive deeper to the hills. Love Tignes and Val D, or Val T, but 3.5 transfer. I think it’s worth it though.

Tignes was definitely one of my favourite resorts. They're skiing on the glacier there already.

New year does mean you need to go high

A glacier resort is an option too like Les deux alpes or alpe d’huez. Both doable from Geneva although it’s not the nearest airport

Other options to look at are Austrian resorts like St Anton
