Help - find me a resort!

Hi everyone
We want to go skiing this year and are looking for the week before Xmas. Because of this it needs to be high. But we have a 10 month old and a 5 year old! How do people do it?!!!! We will need a crèche for the baby and a ski school for the 5 year old that will give her lunch. Ideally I would like them to eat together if this is possible 🤷‍♂️ Does anyone have any gems tucked up their sleeve? Thanks

Look for companies that have in house creches. They will also do the care around ski school for your older child. It doesn't come cheap though!

Companies like Le Ski or Ski Famille

Chamonix is high so you will have the good snow. Also relatively easy is get to, less than an hour out of Geneva and great shuttle buses if you’re not driving. There are several huge resorts all connected by the buses and between a 5 and 20 minute drive from the centre which will definitely do the all-day ski schools; not sure about the crèches though I’m afraid as have only ever been child-free.

Ski Famille were brilliant when we had DC the same age as yours and they do a range of resorts, so you can choose one with a record of snow before Christmas. The other company we used when our kids were little, which was absolutely brilliant and very compact, is Ski Hillwood. They only do the small resort of Zauchensee in Austria and I don't think they're even open before Christmas week, but we had two really good holidays with them, including really nice, short transfers.

i've done Club Med and Ski Esprit and both are very good.
I would defiantly recommend Club Med over Esprit ski.

Either Serre Chevalier or Grand Massif.

The week before Christmas can be quite iffy (i.e. there may be none!) so choose carefully. We went to Saas Fee the week before December 2006, and it fits your bill I would say, although as a Switzerland regular pointed out to me on another thread, Switzerland is currently very expensive due to the weak pound. Hemsedal in Norway is also snowy and family friendly, but with a good spread of runs. Skistar can organise cheaper mid-week accommodation (Sun-Fri or Sun-Thu). If you're self catering Norway doesn't have to be overly expensive, and the current exchange rate isn't too disadvantageous at the moment.

*meant to say snow can be iffy
