If you were going skiing during half term. 2 adults 2 teens, where would you go?
Max budget is £5k?!
We're relative beginners so need some easy slopes and not too crazy busy

For beginners and without breaking budgets look at Andorra. Longish transfers but will be fine with teens. Mix of slopes, never gets massively crowded. Reasonable prices to eat out and drink

I'd check out local school holiday dates and maybe consider the Spanish Pyrenees. I live near Andorra and have friends who rave about Baqueira Beret.

You won't get half term for 5k if you want to fly - I've just booked for 2 adults and 2 teens (who are classed as adults grrr). Andorra was cheapest as good deals on lift passes etc. We could get it for around 5.5k but then that was self catering so factoring in food obviously hikes up the price. We got a half board package for 6kShock

millimat · 09/06/2019 09:32

Unless you drive?
Even Bulgaria was more than 5k, not sure about Slovenia.
Are you a teacher?

Baxdream · 09/06/2019 16:04

Same as us! Who did you book through?
I'm currently deciding between Norway or Bulgaria!
I'm not a teacher just kids in important school years unfortunately

Inghams was the cheapest for us. I had a search and got prices slightly lower than we paid by flying from Luton so depends where you are in the UK.

millimat · 09/06/2019 23:10

I love Norway btw.

katieviney · 10/06/2019 12:20

Bulgaria have some brill offers with buy one get one free on lift passes.
sent you a PM. :-)

Baxdream · 10/06/2019 18:32

We've booked Borovets for £5200 half board with all our kit.

That's really good! Where are you flying from?

Baxdream · 11/06/2019 07:59

It's from Gatwick

Depends if you are prepared to DIY or package but I previously managed 2 or 3 trips to Andorra for under £4k for 4 of us. Plenty of flights to Barcelona for under £100 a person normally, hire a car for the week or pay for transfers. Find an AirBnB or TripAdvisor rental for £1k a week. Lift passes and equipment are relatively cheap as are lessons and you can normally get packages from Andorraresorts or similar companies that reduce cost even more. Then it's just your food and drink costs but again you can self cater to keep cost down or eat out and still bring it well under £5k

massistar · 13/06/2019 11:25

Agree that it's definitely doable DIY!

We've just booked hotel in Andorra at £1758 for the 4 of us half board. Flights from Luton to Barcelona were £124 each. Even factoring in equipment and ski passes we'll come in around £4K so £5k is achievable!
