Best recommendations for Italian skiing?

We usually ski for a few days between Christmas and New Year, and this year I quite fancy Italy. Does anyone have recommendations for where to go that will be high enough for good snow with a decent chance of sun? I'd say I'm a nervous intermediate, so would ideally like somewhere with lots of cruisey blues.

Any recommendations? Been looking at Cervinia. Is it quite a spendy place or decent value with kids lift passes, etc.? Good ski school recommendations? Anywhere in particular we should stay? We live on the continent so will drive there, if that makes a difference.

We went to La Thuile many years ago which links over to La Rosiere. You need altitude to be snowsure at Christmas.

Club Med Cervinia i would defiantly recommend.
Are you looking for a week trip or just a short break?

In Cervinia we stayed in Les Neiges d'Antan which was amazing! Probably the best ski hotel we've ever stayed in, but it was pricey.

Sorry, only just checking back in here! It would probably just be a few days, not a long trip. Good info about La Thuile, have never heard of it! I will definitely give it a look. Will also check out the hotels in Cervinia.

Cervinia is great value, but high so cold and wind is an issue.

@katieviney is that the extortionate one?!

Courmayeur great for a long weekend.

Would like a brea from the French alps for a year so looking at Italy and Austria

Cruisey blues suits us too

Ski in|out chalet for self catering, good snow and an easy transfer and I’m in!
