Budget christmas Skiing with 7 & 5 year olds

Hi
I'm a rusty snowboarder and my husband is pretty good. We are hoping to book our first family ski trip for Christmas 2019 but are on a reasonably tight budget!

Does anyone have any suggestions for suitable locations that have direct flights from Dublin with short transfers? We are looking into Zakopane in Poland, does anyone have experience here?

Self catering with easy lift access would be ideal.

Thanks!

Just answered another thread saying we went with Rocket ski at Xmas and got a good price for Xmas week but that was half board and long transfer.Reality is we have often skied at Xmas but always book last minute because we wait to check there will be snow. If you want to book a long way ahead aim for somewhere high with a good snow record but that might mean a longer transfer time.
Not been to zakopane

We've skied in cervinia for 2 Christmas' and found it very good value. We fly to Geneva (hire a car, 2.5hr transfer but really easy), shorter 1 hr drive if you fly to Turin, and book AirBnB. Snow sure as it's high (with great snow making if theres a lack of snow), really compact resort, most accommodation within 5 mins of the ski lift, cheap for ski resorts for drinks / food.

Cervinia sounds fab actually. Is there any where in particular you'd recommend for accommodation?
Thanks

We've stayed both times in this block of apartments Breuil%2C Aosta Valley%2C Italy&adults=2&children=3&checkin=2019-07-31&checkout=2019-08-07&home_collection=1&guests=1&s=zu6OGAOH here this was 4 bed, spacious lounge. Tiny kitchen with electrics which tripped a couple of times but we only ate breakfast at the apartment. Ski store downstairs, less than 2 min walk (in ski boots) to the ski lift / ski school meeting point, 30 seconds off the main street for restaurants etc. Am sure there are lots of other places but we're a bit awkward as a family of 5.

Cervinia has really good long cruisey blues for confidence (our DD was 6 the first time we went), we all skied over to Zermatt a couple of days.
