Which ski school? - Aviemore

First timers in Aviemore. Booked to stay at one of the Macdonald cabins for Feb half term. Presuming there’s snow, which ski school should we choose for our kids (8 and 6, skied before in France but wasn’t a great experience, so essentially complete beginners)? DH and I are enthusiastic but fairly rubbish skiers so not good enough to teach them ourselves. Private lessons or group? It would be great to do 3 or 4 sessions but I don’t think they’ll last a whole day on the mountain. Something for the whole family together? I’m usually Research Queen but am completely bamboozled by our options. Please, can anyone recommend something? Better booked ASAP or do we leave it last minute because if the snow?

May not be any skiing at Aviemore if they can't get the funicular sorted .

I’d leave it to the last minute. Given issues with funicular, there may not be much skiing unless there’s a large dump of snow and they can get a beginners area working. Lots of great stuff to do in the area that isn’t skiing

Thanks. I heard they’d be extra snow making on the lower slopes to try and make up for it. And there are lifts ... or does the whole mountain really depend on the funicular? I’m sure we’ll find other stuff to do but I’d hate to get there and miss out if there’s any skiing to be had. I’m presuming (perhaps wrongly) that they’ll have cancellation policies if the mountain is closed. Anyway, IF there’s skiing, any recommendations for ski school?
