Italy - skiing, boarding, kids and half term

We are a snowsports family who regularly (twice a season) go with friends to France and Austria. This coming winter a change of job situation, stricter school, family Christmas to-do and late Easter means it almost certainly is a one week season and it needs to be "cheap". Italy has been suggested - we need high mileage good intermediate skiing with some off piste , ski and board school for kids, hotel with a family vibe but not an Esprit type (beyond that now) & quad bedrooms or a really good apartment with 6 proper beds and decent transfer times. I've been looking at Dolomiti Superski area but the resorts don't seem that connected for the mileage. Anyone got any resort / hotel recommendations? We're very happy to DIY not package. thanks!

We've stayed at the Hotel Villa Rosella a couple of times. It's a very typical small Italian family run hotel. Fabulous food and lovely owners. Although be warned they don't speak that much English. It's walking distance to 2 gondolas which take you either to Ciampac or to Belvedere area. Not huge area but think you can join to the Sellaronda. Transfers around 2.5 hours but Italy is so much cheaper and better up the mountain for food and drinks than either Austria or France.

Sella Ronda has plenty of mileage...stay in corvara and you will not be bored at all...you can always get the bus to kronplatz for an excursion too (I love krinpkatz).

We normally do about 35k per day (ski distance) in the sella..and that’s not doing first-last lifts!

Try Colletts Mountain Holidays - mostly chalets but also some hotels/apartments I think...

We loved Alpe Cermis in March which is part of the Dolomiti Ski region in Italy. This is our review

I meant to say. It was great value. We flew out to Milan, car hire and accomodation was £700 for 4 :)
