Overnight stops on way to Evasion ski area

We’ve booked Chunnel & Airbnb for feb half term week (gulp!). It will be our first drive & self catering holiday so any tips are most welcome.

We had planned to have an overnight stop on the way down and one on the way back but I’m struggling to find any cheap motorway hotels that offer family rooms. It looks like the max occupancy is 3. Do you just book two rooms with 1 parent/1 kid in each or am I missing something? Kids are 7 & 4 so having their own room isn’t an option.

Can any anyone recommend a good place to stay?

Have a look at Campanile, the B&B hotel chain and Premier Classe - all are cheap and cheerful motel-type places but do rooms for up to 4 people. Alternatively, Novotel do family rooms (double plus sofa bed which opens into 2 single beds).

I think Ibis Styles do family rooms for 4 as well, and price include a free breakfast.
