We are a family of four, 2 teenage DS skiing intermediate. I was intermediate but haven't skied for 19 years and my DH is a novice. Do not want too long a transfer as I get travel sick and would prefer not to have to bus to lifts. A village with pretty scenery and charm plus some nightlife and other things to do would be a bonus!

Any ideas please?Flowers

Stay in one of the hotels off or on the main street . Few minutes walk to beginner slopes and chair lifts.

Samoens or Morillon are lovely villages. An hour from Geneva.

We've done Christmas 2015 and 2017 in Cervinia. Definitely need to go high (like Cervinia). You can ski over to Zermatt which is lovely too. We fly to Geneva - it's a 3 hour drive from there, but if you fly to Turin it's only 1 hour.

We were at a ski resort last year. It was lovely. I got to meet new people and try some skiing as well. The only other person who dared to get up on the slope was my step daughter. She took her first ever beginner ski lesson.

And she loved it. My son and daughter were too little at the time but we were able to take part in other activities. We are hoping to do it next year too. One night we were at a restaurant eating a scrumptious dinner. Costly but if you know where to go to find a decent offer it’s cheaper.

I recommend checking out the website to start with. Or you could always ring up the office and find out about the prices etc for lessons.
