February or first week in April

Decisions, decisions!
Just back from a great week in Les Arcs and looking at next year. Our school holidays seem to fall outside the real peak weeks, which is great, but we can’t decide between the second week in Feb and the first week in April. We’ve always been in January until this year and know we were lucky this year with the second week in April. Price is broadly the same for both weeks. I think Feb is safer, but good to hear people’s views! Thanks

Are you thinking of going back to Les Arcs? If so I would say both dates would be fine for snow. We were in Les Arcs until 23 Apr last year and even in a dreadful snow year there was still plenty of skiing. You couldn't go as low as Villaroger but around 1950, 2000 & 1800 (i remember they put fleece down around one lift to keep it open) the snow was still fine - just typical Spring conditions

Check the dates for the french schools holidays as Feb could get busy.

Used to live in France so on that as I know it’s a nightmare to travel anywhere on the first day of the holidays. Luckily our first Easter week none of the French regions are off, so going to go for that. Thanks

Go for first week of April every time (we have - just booked it!)

Fab, I'm sure you'll have a fab time. I need to think about how to make Feb half term bearable (& affordable) as due to work commitments we can't do Easter skiing next year.
