Anyone been to Andorra? Looking for NY 2018 and everywhere is coming up sooo expensive!

Any other lower cost options? Not Bulgaria though..

Yes, but 30 odd years ago Grin
It was lovely.
I was a complete beginner. It was beautiful and warm and sunny with great snow.

I love Andorra but I’d be worried that NY is too early. It’s warm there.

massistar · 11/04/2018 22:19

Yeah I did wonder about that. The reviews say that their snow cannons are fab but it's always a risk that early in season.

Yes they have good cannon coverage but it’s not the same texture.

Affordable, beginner friendly. Usually pretty snowsure but I agree, New Year might be a risk. I've been twice but that was in the spring months.

IMHO biggest downside is because Andorra's not in the EU the mobile roaming charges are extortionate. Expect £1.50-£2 per minute to make or receive calls. Best to get Skype or Whatsapp and use the wifi in the hotel or on the parts of the slopes that have it.

Loved it there.

We went for a week after Xmas before N.Y.. Lots of snow.

Good to know Jon66!! Thanks!

Loved it there (late January a few years ago).
So much better than any of the ten French resorts we've been to IMO - better food (especially for veggies), quieter slopes and no lift queues, pistes kept in better condition, apartment was like a 5 star hotel and ski instructor was the best we've ever had.

And people who worked there actually smiled Grin

Any hotel/chalet recommendations? Thanks!
