Landsend ski jackets

Hi all

I am not sure whether this should go in S&B or here. I've just ordered a ski jacket for my son for next year from Landsend and wondered whether any of you buy from there? What are they like? It was quite expensive at full price but in the sale and with the extra 25% off (FREEZE25), it seemed to be a bit of a bargain.

In the past I've bought ski jackets and saloupettes from Muddy Puddles but my son has said that he is a bit too hot in the (fleece lined) jacket plus fleece.

If the bargain Landsend jacket isn't any good, where else should I try? I love Polarn O Pyret / Reima / Skogstad etc. but my husband will be quite unimpressed if I spend loads. I usually buy the stuff at the end of the ski season for the following year (as it gets reduced by quite a lot).

DD (6) has one. It is excellent quality and very warm, and has extendable arms. The sizing is quite big. LE stuff is just too boxy for me 9 year old!

Superb, thank you! The thing is, my son is quite boxy but my daughter is more slender.

Check the waterproof and breathability specs .

I think 5000 and over is fine (but higher end ones score higher, think 10k or 15k)

H&M - they'll grow out of it in a year

WE have also had lots of H&M ones too - usually make them last 2 years. Also excellent especially for the price!

The Landsend jacket has arrived and is just what I was looking for! In fact, I've just ordered the same jacket (more or less) for my daughter - except her one is only available in white, which may be a grubby mistake. However, very cheap.
