Travelling from Scotland - anywhere other than France for a long ski weekend?

Just that really.
We usually go to France when skiing as a family as DH has a friend their that he likes to go mountain climbing with, but also go on a ladies long weekend. We generally go to France as direct flights to Geneva, but it would be nice to try a different country - probably not Switzerland though as too expensive.

Can fly from Edinburgh, Glasgow or at a push Newcastle. We don't hire a car so needs to be somewhere where we can either get a taxi or transfer bus to.

On weekends we've been to Courmayeur. I almost booked Innsbruck and Baqueira Beret.

Where do you fly to for Courmayeur please?

Geneva, just over the hill from Chamonix. Just the right size for a weekend.

For a weekend, you could try the south of France - Isola 2000, Barcelonette, Pra Loup. You fjy to Nice, but not sure about transfers.

(I realise this is still France, but it’s nit the Hautes Alpes which is what you usually think of for skiing in France).

I'll have a look at those - not sure that there are that many flights to Nice though in winter

I fly used to fly from Liverpool to Nice to ski, but I think that msg have stopped. Pretty sure the Stansted service is year round.

Austrian Alps-the snow is amazing there this year, particularly in the Arlberg region
Fly into Innsbruck then get the train-an hour/hour and a half maybe?
