We are a family of 4, DCs are 9 and 11.

Never skied before, just doing some research at the moment.

No idea about how it works, how much it costs etc.

What's the set up re dining on a ski trip?

You can hotel on whichever basis you like. You can half board or full board in a catered chalet. Self cater. Share a chalet, rent a chalet, an apartment. Chalet hotels are a cross between the two.

You can organise yourself, or have a company like iglu organise it for you with an operator, or go direct to people like crystal, Neilson, ski Total. Scott Dunn is exclusive. Family Ski all about the kids.

You can pay what you want, but in school holidays the min I've heard for kit, lessons, self catering is about £2k. The most we've spent is about £12k.... and you can easily spend more.

There are lots of threads on here about kit and different destinations.
