February half term tips

Thinming way ahead to 2019 and we'll be looking to go away at February half term as kids will be in years 7 and 9.
They're both v proficient skiers.
I want to avoid busy French resorts if possible but do like to stay in catered chalets. We live in South Wales so would like to avoid going to Manchester and Gatwick if possible.
Has anyone got any tips of less well known resorts that might fit the bill?

Southampton has apparently added lots of new ski destinations to their schedule. Not sure if that's easier to reach

Italy doesn’t have February holidays so is quieter than France at that time but accommodation tends to be hotels.
I think catered chalets are generally for British people so tend to exist in the resorts popular with the British which will all be busy in Feb.

Thanks. I think it's the catered chalet bit that we'll need to reconsider then.
I suppose the DC will be a fair bit older and more able to stay up later by then. So far it's been the early evening meals and them being able to go to bed whenever they want that's won us over to chalets.

We're in Levi ( Finnish Lapland) at the moment. It has been fantastic, so much snow, lots to do apart from ski ( Snowshoe, snowmobiles etc) Booked through Inghams, not as expensive as Europe for half term, Sunday flights from Bristol.

We've been to Serre Chevalier at half term a couple of times. It's busy but not ridiculously so as not very popular with Brits as unless you fly into Turin it's a very long transfer from Grenoble.

This year we're trying Montgenevre at Easter time - again French, but not very well known to Brits I think and having googled there appear to be some catered chalets : ww.catered-ski-chalets.co.uk/ski-chalets/france/montgenevre. I suspect it's not going to be a hugely busy one at the half term either.
