Skiing in Europe with children with dairy allergy

Hi has anyone got any experience of skiing in Europe with children with dairy allergy? We are flexible on which country - we would prefer a hotel as it's the first time skiing so would be nice to have use of a pool when the kids need a break from it. DH has contacted quite a lot of hotels in Austria and not heard back from most of them. Wondering if Germany might be better? France is terrible for dairy allergy so think that rules France out... Children are 6 & 7. Thanks

Yes. We've been to France and Italy with a dairy allergy. It was fine, but we were with British based companies (Mark Warner, Esprit, Ski Total, Crystal). We didn't have the milk substitute the first day, but after that it was fine. The chefs made various diary free cakes and the last one in Italy really got into it and made all sorts of creations.

The chefs were all British doing a season though. The largest place we stayed was a chalet hotel, but the others were smaller and so knew the child involved and were very engaged. You might find a large hotel harder. There are often swimming pools in the town if that might add an option

Lunch on the mountain obviously required a bit more planning but was fine. It helped to learn how to describe the allergies in French to make double sure they understood
