we've just come home from a week's skiing in Austria and in the ice bar at the end of the day they played a song which was great and my children are trying to find out what it is - was anyone in Austria who can think of a song like this - it was in german, there was a lot of woh, woh woh, woh woh's in it (this is ridiculous, I know) and they seem to think the word ice was in it

Blimey, I will be impressed if even the power of Mumsnet can work out this one elliot3

I know, it's completely random as my nine year old would say, but it's driving me crazy- anyone?

Ring or email the bar?

MrsGumby · 09/04/2007 21:01

Is it a current song or an oldie?

zephyrcat · 09/04/2007 21:02

What kind of music?

SueW · 09/04/2007 21:03

Current Austrian Charts

Genie Auf Die Ski??????!!!!

elliot3 · 09/04/2007 21:04

it's definielty pop music and sadly I don't know how old it is but I think maybe quite old- last year or so. very catchy and when it came on lots of people joined in with the chorus - woh oh oh oh? sad or what...

SueW · 09/04/2007 21:39

Or here?

Lio · 09/04/2007 21:40

Keep going SueW, I may well cheer if you get there

SueW · 09/04/2007 21:44

Can you guess how bored I am this evening???!!!

SueW · 09/04/2007 21:46

Well not bored, just procrastinating - large pile of laundry, paperwork, etc

Can't watch TV at the mo as I have a cough and my ears have gone 'buzzy' so the TV drives me mad.

Lio · 09/04/2007 21:48

Also have buzzy ears. Bunny ears would be so much easter-y

SueW · 09/04/2007 21:56

Found another potential source of tune here

Or maybe here

SueW · 09/04/2007 21:57

Bunny ears would be much better.

However, I suspect I will it easier to venture out in public with buzzy rather than bunny ears

Plibble · 09/04/2007 22:03

DH (always an excellent source of random German songs) assures me that the song you mean is "Wir wollen die eisbaeren sehen", the song of the Berlin Ice Hockey team, which is apparently a staple of all things apres-ski.

It has a lot of "oooh-ohhh-ohhh" in it apparently (I've just been treated to a line or two) and is by a band of aging rock-types called "Puhdys".

HTH

Lio · 09/04/2007 22:05

Does he get invited to a lot of parties, Plibble

Plibble · 09/04/2007 22:07

Why yes, but he also takes is apres ski very seriously (and is German, so can remember the songs!)

Lio · 09/04/2007 22:08

Ha ha must admit my knowledge of German pop is minimal - had assumed that a lot of them might have 'woh, woh, woh' in them.

Plibble · 09/04/2007 22:11

We keep hoping it will come in handy at pub quizzes...
