Carte Neige

I have always bought a carte neige with my ski pass (France obvs) as I understood that it would get you off the mountain quickly if you had an accident.
However, friends of mine have said that as I have travel insurance I don't need the carte neige as it's doubling up insurance - is this the case?

It is doubling up but if you have to get taken off the mountain then you will have to pay by credit card and then get it reimbursed by your insurance company whereas the Carte Neige gives you instant cover.

Thanks Masisrar, I went for both in the end.
Should I ever find myself in need of a blood wagon , I do not want to quibble over who's paying for it!
