Best transfer airport for 3 valleys at Easter

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had any advice as to which airport out of Geneva, Grenoble or Lyon is the easiest transfer for the 3 valleys. We are travelling on the Easter weekend next year and I don't know if the traffic is likely to be terrible the. I know Chambery is the closest but the flight prices are horrendous. So out of the other 3 which are all similar in terms of distance I wondered if one in particular was a better bet. Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved!

A friend of mine is doing similar and found car hire cheaper from Lyon. If you're relying on a transfer his there's more options from Geneva.
If you're London /south East, I would also look at Eurostar as door to door it's similar total times but the transfer is super quick at the other end, done it a couple of times to La Tania and its 20/25 mins.

Thanks Shizzle, we are not south east based otherwise would definitely think about the train, although I think we have left it too late as I idly looked at prices for the Easter weekend and there were about 2 seats left and the prices were similar to flights to Chambery. Geneva I think it is!

I’ve flown into & driven from Lyon in February & it took FOREVER!!! However that was February & the radio kept bleating on about “le grand weekend” & the whole world was trying to drive up that bloody mountain.

Last year I drove the whole way from the tunnel. It was Easter & clear as a bell so I reckon you’ll be fine.

Got my act together this year & flying into Chambery. It’s under 90 minutes drive & I’m looking forward to it.

Geneva is probably the most straight forward, as it has a separate terminal for ski charters so it's easy to get your luggage and find your transfer.

The journey time is about the same from Lyon but it's a pain in the arse airport!
I remember very nearly missing a flight there a few years ago because they make you check in skis and boots at a separate desk, and there was only one open.
So every single ski flight was queuing up once to check in bags and get boarding passes and then having to get back in another queue to check in boot and ski bags
And they were checking the name on the tag matched the passport and matched the photo so there was no option of sending the rest of the group through security and leaving 1 person to queue.
It was carnage!
