Year round Alps Villages

We are thinking of buying a little ski flat one day. We have 3 young children. We'd love somewhere that is in a decent ski area but also it's important that it's open year round with things to do in spring, summer and autumn. It probably needs to be in France but we would consider other countries except Switzerland. Also, the nearer to a big airport the better, and that airport needs to be open year round eg Geneva.
Our best idea so far is Bourg St Maurice as we've been in May and in the ski season and it was great.
I also like the idea of Lake Annecy for the summer but don't know if there's a ski area near there??
All suggestions gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, another thing is we would like to be in a town, not a little village and not a resort village. We want to be able to walk to bars, cafes, restaurants and shops and for it to be a year round 'working' town in it's own right, not purely about the skiing.
Not too many demands!!

Mayerhofen in Austria. And close to year round glacier skiing as well.

Chamonix, St Anton? Many lift systems close between Easter and Whitsun and mid October until ski season , and the towns will be quieter with hotels and restaurants closed for refurbishment and owner/staff holidays.

My Inlaws had a chalet in a little village called Essert Romand just between Morzine/Les Gets. Beautiful in the summer.

We spent a few days in Annecy- think it took about 1.5 hours to get there.

morzine sounds like it fits your bill

Grand Bornand - lovely in summer but an alpine village rather than a town. Well connected. Not too far from Annecy
