Suggestions for self drive resorts at Easter

We are planning to drive to the Alps for the first time next Easter.
Any suggestions for a resort that's easy to drive to, with free lift pass and good ski school for a 5 year old and family friendly apres, ideally with a nice pool with slides and water play - like Avoriaz but more snowsure? Thanks

Anyone?? Someone must have driven to the Alps at Easter??

I think it's probably the water slides part puzzling people. Don't think there is anywhere like that outside Avoriaz.

We drive toFlaine. Friends to Alpe d'Huez. Close to autoroute is key. High for snow. Easter is early next year I think so not such an issue re snow.

yeah water slides might be a bit optimistic/specific but I remember someone on here mentioning an Austrian resort with kids splash pool.

No idea about driving there but Tignes Le Lac has a pool with some slides and is high enough (plus glacier) for April skiing

I'd say Tignes...., I can never understand the need for anything other than snow though . it has a pool apparently

We drove to Les Arcs 1950 when we went with small children. We took Lego & they were happy to play when they weren't skiing. They found skiing & playing in the snow tiring enough.

We've driven to alpe d'huez and la plagne at easter. I'd also go to les arcs.
Alpe d'hyez has an outdoor pool. Not sure about la plagne

Soelden in the Austrian Tyrol is good for families and snow sure at Easter as it has 2 glaciers. It's a long drive from south east of England but we usually stop overnight somewhere on the way like Brussels or in Germany and the quality of snow and empty slopes more than make up for the long drive. There's a huge leisure centre in the village with pool, slides, lazy river etc and lots of family friendly eating places.

Our kid Is a bit non-plussed about snow but has been dragged to the mountains since he was a baby. The only time he's been really excited was in Aquariaz. Theres not that many snow sure resorts with splash parks unfortunately

As other posters have mentioned, Tignes Le Lac has a pool with slides, waterfall thingy, cave with lights. Our DD (5) loved it. We went at Easter this year (although we didn't drive - we went by Eurostar). Snow was good.

I'd ruled Tignes out as we've skied l'Espace Killy inside out and I don't fancy the drive up to Tignes.
I'm re-thinking the driving part now. DH gets vertigo on the hairpins in a coach and I don't really want to do all the driving.

The pool in Tignes is an indoor pool. Use of the pool is included in the cost of the ski pass.

I've actually been in that pool. Had totally forgotten about it. It is really nice but not sure it's worth the trek to Tignes.

Courchevel has a fantastic new pool, I believe made by the same people who built Aquariaz in Avoriaz. We stayed in Courchevel 1650 and it was easy to reach the pool on foot from the village - down 3 long escalators and then a short walk along a pavement. Plenty of ski buses passing it too.
