Footwear

Hi, We are going skiing for the first time tomorrow (kids aged 6 and 11). What footwear do people tend to wear for the plane journey and transfer to the resort? We are taking snowboots but I don't want to wear them to travel in, and neither do the kids. Would trainers be ok or would be look ridiculous on arrival?

Thanks!

Trainers , walking boots, winter boots. Most resorts will have clear roads and paths. Take something to wear indoors too , for meals etc.

Trainers are fine.

If you are in a hotel I would also take shoes for indoors for adults.

That's great, thank you.

Trainers fine. They will be so comfy after wearing ski boots!!

I took a pair of waterproof trainers for out doors and a pair of ballet flats for meals inside the hotel. Nothing else needed.

I go in my incredibly unattractive waterproof hiking shoes and then take a pair of OK flats for schlepping around the hotel in, going to the bar etc. I would make sure you have two pairs each though - last year someone in my hotel had their only pair of shoes nicked from the boot room, much drama ensued.

And I take woolly socks instead of slippers for indoors.
