Is there much for non skiers to do in Arc 1950?

Non skiers in this case would be grandparents who enjoy walking and meeting the rest of the group (skiers) for lunch up the mountain.

Would Arc 1950 be a good bet?

when is this for? we are at arc 1950 at the moment and I think it's lovely, really nice atmosphere and a bit of a buzz. I'm skiing tho so I don't know what happens during the day but there's lots on this week in the evening. Don't go to arc 2000, it's a bit dead imo.

There isn't a huge amount but there is a pool and le suite complex, and walking routes
Some of the hotels have got spas as well, if that is of interest

Potentially Christmas 2017. They'd like the walks.

They love Morzine but that's no good for Christmas due to the low altitude and lack of snow for the last few Christmasses.
