We have just come back from our 3rd trip to La Rosiere and it's time for a change. However nothing else looks as good........ I haven't skiied in Obergurgl before - has anyone out there?

We need a big chalet (we are 21) and most chalets are only up to about 12 but we don't want a chalet-hotel - yesterday I trawled Crystal,Inghams, Neilson and some that came up on mumsnet (snowcoach, snowbizz, familyski, cant remember the others)

The great thing about La Ros is that the chalets we've stayed in have been on the edge of a piste so the older kids have been able to carry on skiing until the lift shuts while we watch them out of the window with a glass of wine!

We have got kids ages 3 to 13 (not all mine!) and from intermediate to serious experts among the group and we're all a bit too skint for ski scott dunn or Mark warner....

Any ideas gratefully received.

I went to Obergurgl aged 16, on my first skiing trip so about 20 years ago and stayed in Hotel Edelweiss. It was lovely in that the resort is at the bottom of the lifts and the hotel was practically on the edge of the piste. Trip down memory lane for me.
From what I can remember it was high up on a glacier so we always had snow, even when there was little else where.
But sorry no information about chalets. Hope you get some more advice soon.

we went to obergurlg last year and are going again at easter- it's great. we stayed in the Hotel jenewein at the very foot of the slope, would highly recommend it but not sure about chalets, there are lots of hotels but not sure about chalets.

Just to add doesnt need to be in Obergurgl - its just that's the only suitable one I've found in the Esprit brochure. Anywhere would do..............as long as the resort is higher than 1500m as we always go early.
