Can kids wear snow goggles (with the strap roudn the back of their head) comfortably with a helmet? I can't see how this would work?? But I am very very dumb....

I am presuming they go on over the helmet, by the way?

You should select the helmet and goggles together to make sure they fit properly. Yep, googe strap goes over helmet, ther should be a device on back of helmet to hold it in place.

as foxtrot says. Device at back of helmet is a popper thing & can get broken, so if you're hiring make sure they don't try to fob you off with one where it's broken.

Also I'd say goggles are essential - little kids do not like snow flying in their eyes, or harsh glare on those rare sunny days.

Other essentials are light polonecks, & tights for girls and longjohns (M&S) for boys.

And don't take anything for apres-ski other than a pair of tracksuit bottoms.

ds' helmet had a plastic clip (like an oversized papeclip) at the back for the google strap but that broke in a fall ! They stay down without it though. dd's have a loop but we haven't worked out how to unfix it to thread the goggle strap through, no popper or buckle - any ideas it is a Red one ! Manages fine anyway.

The important thing is to make sure they still fit flush to the face and aren't too wide (overlapping the side of helmet) making a gap, if needs be put them on before helmet.

I knew I could rely on MN. Thanks everyone.

LIZS - some goggles have straps which unclip - so maybe your helmet was designed for use with those?

ah good thought !
