tignes - mid april

anyone skied this late in the year ? am very tempted to book this as its miles cheaper than earlier in the season.....

i have, it can be lovely.

And in tignes of all places in France you're guaranteed to be able to ski because of the glacier.

We have in past years but not there. Last year in early April there was a fresh snowfall and we had great conditions but agree go for somewhere like Tignes which is glacial.

April can be fantastic - and even in may there's plenty of snow for a good holiday. The lack of crowds mean that in fact you have more slope-space to yourself than you'd have in high season.

I recall one April day skiing off the back of La Masse (above Les Menuires, Trois Vallees) and we ended up skiing through a field of snowdrops: didn't have any option - they were everywhere

MrLSG - I was there and they weren't snowdrops, they were crocuses Well I've never seen purple snowdrops before!
