Haven't stayed in Chatel but skiied over there from Avoriaz.. Slopes were fab. Sorry.. not much help!

I went when I was a kid. As it was hundreds a few years ago I don't remember the town that well - it has sort of blended into every other ski resort in France I've been too. (Not much help either, sorry)
I do remember really liking the skiing there though, especially skiing over to Switzerland for lunch

Access to lots of skiing in various places which is great. Some areas (Petit Chatel I think but don't quote me) have lots of draglifts, some of which are tricky / steep, so check your piste map. Lovely pool & spa in town (called O or something?).
