Help! Going on ski hol over Christmas week with Family, SIL & family, & PIL. DCs all under 7. How do we deal with Father Christmas & presents?? Really don't want to lug stuff on plane etc but will probably have to...

I'd take a few things, FC only delivers to your home address so they will be waiting for when they get home Wink. They will be too busy having fun to notice and it will extend the festivities.

Gosh......i wish i had your problems Wink

I know, first World problem Blush
I was thinking of FC/one of his elves drop presents off on the Saturday before Christmas (we fly out on the Sunday), but DH has just told me he has all day meetings on the Saturday.
I like the idea of coming home from hols & seeing what he has brought...could even get my DM to keep the presents & set them up when we are away...
Would love to hear what others have done

We did this a couple of years ago, and we're doing it again this year Smile. We significantly reduced the presents that we bought, and focussed on small gifts (as in their size) - DS1 got a camera, and DS2 got a Nintendo 3DS. We also took a few small things that they could have in a stocking, and a couple of other small gifts that they could play with while we were out there - books, DVDs and colouring stuff I think. Plus we were with another two families, so we took small gifts for each other's kids too. Then for the adults, we had a Secret Santa, so we only had to take one adult gift with each of us.

To be honest, we used it as a good excuse not to buy all the usual tat that we would end up buying if we spent Christmas at home!

Having said that, I'm not sure what we'll do this year as I can't think of any suitable small sized gifts for the boys - I'll have to do some more thinking before we go.

It's certainly a nice problem to have Smile

I'm having the same 'problem' this year, also DD2 will be 2 while we're away. Watching with interest! Grin

We have only ever done stocking from Father Christmas so when we are away I just bring stocking bits (and some bits like sweets and fruit I pick up over there). Then when they get home they get their main gift from us.
