Can anyone recommend ski destinations for families with young children?

I have two sons who will be 2 and 5 next year. We are keen to go skiing as we used to be regulars on the slopes. Not been since the kids have been around and keen to get back out there. Any suggestions?

Ski Esprit - we've just been to Obergurgl with them and they were great - various childcare options including nursery. Ours are 9 & 6 so we didn't use nursery, but all the childcare staff seeemed really good.

Mark Warner are good for childcare.

I'd look for resorts that aren't
just about the skiing iyswim, in case DC don't get on well with it. Resorts like Alpe d'Huez in France have other activities included free on the lift pass e.g. swimming (in fab outdoor heated pool) and ice skating.
Scandinavia is good for young kids too.
In general, eastern Europe is cheaper all round which may be a consideration for you. Otherwise smaller resorts mean you're not paying for a vast area lift pass which you may not get use out of as you'll be holidaying with little ones.
If your little ones would be having ski lessons make sure tuition in English is on offer. May not be in some small resorts or your kids may be in lesson groups with mainly non-English speakers.

Family Ski Company - just come back and it was superb.

La Rosiere is a nice compact resort still with plenty of runs and a link over to Italy for further exploring. Esprit go there, good company.

Les Gets would also be good.

It depends whether you want a company with full day childcare, and usually chalet based, so you can ski all day, or something more flexible. If the latter, I'd look at Snowbizz in Puy St Vincent or Ski2 in Champoluc, though neither has a huge range of non-ski activities if that is important. At 4 and 5, our DCs were fine to ski with us in the afternoon after a couple of days on the nursery slope.

La Tania is good for families with quite a few small ski companies who offer child care.

Thanks for all the advice. Will feed back on how we get on! Just put option of skiing against sun holiday to my eldest son and I think he is up for it!

Hi there,
La Rosière is a great destination to ski and it has the added attraction of being able to ski over into Italy! Great views, loads of sunshine and very family friendly. Ski Beat have a creche in Chalet Papillon too!
:D
