We've all used Decathlon in the past but I've left it late and they don't have all the sizes we need.
TIA

I think if you just googled for socks made from merino wool youd get a lot of hits.

I like hot chillys socks best, but they aren't cheap. Normally buy in resort. Make sure you get proper shaped ones with padding on the shins.

Believe it or not, these are fantastic:

Fab ski socks

Bought some of the big 'tube' type socks from Trespass for DS1 as he went skiing first time a few weeks back. I bought some special undersocks as well from a specialist hiking shop but DS said they tube socks were well warm on their own.

Sorry, I should have "sold" them to you with a little more details!

They're not too thick, but really really warm. DD2 has Reynaud's and is quite comfortable in these, though if it's seriously cold she will wear silk liners too. They've got good shin padding.

I bought them for all of us last year and we were all delighted with them.

Bought exactly the same pack as ^^ this year having had problems with sore shins and rubbing ankles.

Absolutely comfortable and warm all week!

Trespass had some nice Merino wool ones in our local branch not that long ago on sale.

BikeRunSki · 07/03/2013 20:54

Heat Holders are very warm indeed.

thanks guys. We're going at Easter so Im not too worried about the thermal properties, i'd just like comfort, fresh feet and no sweating.
I'll check out those ones SmartArse and Trespass and Merino.
Thanks again
