Anyone been to la Rosiere?

Hi All, Can anyone tell me where's good to eat on the mountain, how easy it is to get to La Thuile and what there's to do off the slopes? We've just booked to go and i'm feeling like i don't know anything about the place Blush so please fill me in on all the details.

Been there several times - there are several mountain restaurants. It can be very windy, and there are only chairlifts on the La Ros side, so can be cold. Getting to La Thuile is easy. There is a long drag, which you do not wnat to to fall off, like DS2 did but otherwise not difficult

off the slopes is the usual bowling/skating, but no real night life.

Thanks MrsSalvo, we have a toddler with us so the lack of nightlife isn't an issue. Do you have any suggestions for toddler friendly restaurants to go to on the chef's night off? Is there a pool in the resort?
I'll pack a few extra layers for the high winds, thanks for the heads up!

There are lots of nice restaurants to eat at night. If you are going to Italy make sure it's a nice sunny day because it can be cold. We had a great time there last year with a three year old.

Hi, did not mean to sound frosty - woz in a hurry :-) I love la Rosiere! went there several times with the DC when they were little and we had a lovely time. ( And I think elsewhwere on here under my previous name of MrsGuy ofGisbourne I reviewed it and said I was hoping I would get to take my grandkids there in due course...) The restaurants are child friendly, but do book in advance for chefs night off as they get busy - we always eat early so was not a problem for us. I prefer the Les Eucherts end of the resort, and we like the 'Bowling' restaurant.
I don't remember a swimming pool, but there are probably chalets/hotels with them. One thing to bear in mind is that the road up is quite wind-y ( ie I mean bends a lot) and the first time we went, with Esprit, several kids were travel sick and the teenage rep looked suprised when someone asked for sick-bags ( luckily I always carry numerous spares so could hand them out :-) It is a brilliant place to learn, and is pretty so snow-sure so ok for later in the season, just a bit cold in Dec/Jan)

We had a fab time in la rosiere last year. The first day was freezing and a blizzard and the kids were unimpressed but brightened up after that and they loved it and both want to go again.

Dd's were 4 and 20months, 4 yr old had lessons with a lovely instuctor from evolution called valentine who she got on really well with. There is a big statue of a st Bernard dog dd2 liked, think there is a st Bernard museum as well but don't think we saw it. They enjoyed sledging and there is a walk between main centre and eucherts area that has "fairy lights" along it after dark we all liked.

Can't remember any issues with eating out so must have been fine, no names have stuck in my head.
