Best way/place to book a last minute ski holiday?

Having not quite got round to going skiing the last few years, the heavy snow in the Alps is making me insanely jealous, so OH and I are planning on getting away in the next couple of weeks. We have next week off (ie from the 11th) but realised that is half term so will probably change it to the week after. However I am struggling to know where to look! Are there any websites particularly good for last minute? Or chalets only (we could arrange flights separately). Also keen to take suggestions as to resorts that are good for me (experienced) and OH (total beginner!) Ideally we'd fly from Scotland.

Sorry for the vague question but sometimes the internet is just too big!!

We've booked some (relatively) bargainous last minute deals with Esprit. THey have a special page on their website which gives you the general reduced price and then you need to call to get the proper quote (i.e. flight supplements, ski hire, lessons, childcare etc added on).

I would book flights to Geneva and then look for accommodation. There are lots of bargains around in chalets.

Ifyouski.com is always a good start. Then google the chalet names that come up in the search results to find out which operator is providing the holiday.

Thanks everyone. We actually have ended up going in the independant route, I found a lovely chalet in Les Arcs (actually in peisey-nancroix which is lower down the valley but given how much snow there is that's not a problem, and also very close to the vanoise express). Booked flights in to chambery so really looking forward to it! I did stumble across ifyouski and got lots of ideas.

There really is so much choice it's hard to know where to start!
