Can anyone please recommend any good travel companies for skiing holidays in Canada, plse. It's our first time skiing and we thought Big White in Canada looked right for us, but don't know who to book with. Any suggestions or comments please Smile

Big White is a brilliant place to ski - we are going for Feb half term and Easter!

We don't book with anyone - just do it all direct. Once we used an agent but it wasn't as good as doing it ourselves.

You can book everything online or by phone and things like ski school can be simply booked in resort.

Central Reservations is a great place to start.

We have found it best to fly Air Canada via Vancouver to Kelowna and then get the shuttle to the resort - you really don't need a car once you are there. Big White run a shuttle or if you want to do a supermarket stop on the way up the mountain (usually worthwhile as although the shop is reasonably well stocked it can be pricey) use Discover Okangan who have always been really helpful.

If you want daycare that is probably best booked before you arrive. And if you are a family of 5 or more look into season passes - even if just going for 10 days this still may work out cheaper as they only charge for the first 4 in the family.

Canadian affair is consistently cheapest.

I've only ever been with canadian affair, didn't know you could fly to kelowna. Greyhound bus was the cheapest option when I went.
Do try a day at Silver Star mountain... A locally small family run resort. I learnt to ski there!

Thanks so much for the replies - I' going to have a good read of them properly tonight. Jicky we're hopefully going Easter - I'll be the one with a red rose between my teeth whilst hurtling down the slopes - so that you can recognise me as a fellow MNer Smile

I'll be the one trying to find the chicken way down, while my boys charge ahead!

And trying to keep up with the smallest one as he chases the Easter bunny for chocolate!

I'll look out for the red rose Grin
