How much for skis?

I used to ski about three times a year, but with two small DC (3 and 11 weeks) I haven't for a while and can't see us skiing at all until the baby is 5 or so (assuming we win the Lottery).

A friend has offered to buy my skis off me. I am happy to sell, but don't know what to ask for them. They are Rossignol All Mountain Bandit2 (Women's), lightweight Safire bindings, bag and Leki racing poles. Skis serviced regularly (after every trip) and are in great condition, might just need a bit of wax then good to go. No dings or dents. Serviced last winter in anticipation of a trip that didn't happen. 6 years old, used for about 8 weeks in all. £500ish new.

Does £150 sound reasonable? I have looked on Snowheads, but no one is selling anything similar.

Have you looked on
eBay for price guidance

OlympicGoldPennies · 09/01/2012 17:11

No more than £200 I reckon. Ski technology seems to change so much at the moment that bought skis seem to age quite fast IMO.

UsedToBikeAndRunAndSki · 09/01/2012 17:12

There is nothing similar on Ebay either.

Seemed to be a few going for £100 odd - given that are five years old (even though well cared for) I would think there would be a lot of depreciation

Geordieminx · 09/01/2012 17:13

Have you been on any of the snow heads trips bikerunski?

deste · 09/01/2012 20:11

I think if you put them on eBay you would be lucky to get any interest for them as they are unfortunately out of date. I got a pair of one year old Rossignols on eBay for £45.00

GeordieMinx - no I havn't. I first joined MN having just cancelled a trip to Whistler due to hyperemisis (and hospitalisation) and since then small child another hypermetic pg has really put paid to much skiing. Did a week with SKi Espirit a couple of years ago and hated leaving DS in the creche. By the time he'd settled in, it was time to go home.

Ah no worries.

Dh and I did a trip with snowheads last year, and I'm sure there was a lady with a name similar to you.

Apologies for nosiness!

UsedToBikeAndRunAndSki · 09/01/2012 20:48

No worries Geordie, that wasn't really nosey.

150 sounds fair to me for good poles & bag too.
