Looking for a ski-resort for pregnant non-skier to enjoy too!

Hello,

I have just found out that I am pregnant (yipee!) but we are meant to be going skiing when I will (hopefully) be 14 weeks, so I don't think skiing would be a very good idea. We are meant to be going with some friends so it would be a fun holiday anyway, but I would like a resort which will have enough for me to do if I am not skiing (pool, good walking trails, snowshoeing and possibly even a bit of cross country?).

Does anyone have any recommendations?

We ideally want to go to France (but poss elsewhere in Europe) and our budget is rather limited!

Thank you in advance

Meribel? If Austria then kitzbuhel is a perfect resort for non skiers

Val d'isere has a lovely pool/leisure centre. Think bubble beds and jacuzzis. Not sure about snow shoeing, etc but there is an Evolution 2 based there which often do that sort of stuff so I'd have thought so. They certainly do husky rides through the forest which would be nice.

Is there really any point in you going? If you are having morning sickness holiday food is likely to make you feel worse (not to mention tired and moody).

And also check insurance- don't want a big bill if you end up in hospital.

Oh, Victorialucas, you're a but of a killjoy!

I can't recommend anywhere, but I was once in a holiday where my DH and his best mate snowboarded, and I just chilled out sunning myself at the cafe with books and my iPod.

I think it would be a nice holiday to go on and relax, enjoy the atmosphere and no doubt lovely food. And it might be your last proper holiday for a while, so go for it!

We went to Zell am See in Austria when I was 20-ish weeks pg w. dd1, it was a lovely wee town to wander around the shops, walk around the lake and my dh took a couple of afternoons off and we went on a sleigh ride and a trip into Salzburg and I spent a morning up the mountain with him sitting in the sun with book/ipod. The hotel also had a lovely cafe/lounge area which was perfect for sitting in with a book and a coffee.

Congratulations by the way Smile

Thank you all for the suggestions.
In the end we have decided not to go - we decided that we would rather spend the money on a holiday together where we would both be doing things. Might try to go a bit sooner as well...(quite fancy the northern lights...).

Thanks for the congratulations too. It hasnt really sunk in yet. eek. Not feeling to sick etc yet either, though I imagine that is to come...
