Ski apartments/chalets/lodges - rental during school holidays??

Looking to sort out a skiing trip during the Easter holidays, and I am wondering if any mumsnetters either rent out their own accomodation or have contact details for places that are good?

I'm feeling very flexible and would either consider renting a little place for just me & DS, or trying to get a larger group together, or joining a group that already has other DC's.

My only constraint is that DS [will be 6yo by Easter] likes all-day ski school [i.e. morning & afternoon classes not childcare] as I don't ski. The last 2 yrs we have gone out of school holidays and this has been really easy to organise as a simple package trip but school are being very strict this year so it doesn't seem like an option and the costs of the packages in the holidays seems crazy.

So (a) if you know good accomodation and (b) good ski schools that let 6yo ski all day, please let me know. [Fingers crossed!]

a) Are you looking for something that is catered or self catering? A cheap and cheerful place I have stayed in and would recommend is Kolping Apartments in Kitzbuehel, but only used it BC and not at peak times.

b) I think the Austrian ski schools are always all day. We went to Rauris last year and DS (5 at the time) thoroughly enjoyed it. They break for lunch for an hour or so and you can either collect them then or pay for lunch with the ski school. They do a race at the end of the week in all classes and all the children get medals and a certificate. This year we are trying Ellmau.

We are going Christmas because it's cheaper than half term and I prefer this to Easter.

Thanks FannyBazaar, I checked out Kolping, but they don't have any Easter availablilty unfortunately. Although the ski schools in Kitzbuehel look good.

We've been in Austria the last 3 years and DS loves it, but we've always been at the lower resorts and they won't be snow sure by Easter. Bah humbug to school holidays! I'd love to do Christmas but work wouldn't let me have the time off and half term just looks insane!

I will have a look at Rauris & Ellmau also.

I think you have to go to asutria really for that amount of lessons.
Soll, scheffau, Mayrhoffen, obergrgl (expensive but nice I am told) would probably all do as well as the other suggestions.
You could go with someone like esprit so your DS could meet other kids in the chalet (no guarantee they are the same age though).

I know that in Flaine, France, the ESF offer a "Rabbit Club" for children which gives full day care with around 2 hours of lessons included. They have English speaking instructors and you can book lunch and a shuttle bus from your residence to the ski school meeting point so you're not having to lug skis around! Erna Low have quite a few self catered residences in Flaine and can book the ski scholl as well. They could probably give you information on other ski schools that offer full day lessons as well.

Thanks for the ideas, especially the PM message - I will be seriously considering that if I can get together some others for the other 2 bedrooms, sounds just what I need!
