Mine is the warm cosy gear, the hot mulled wine, the beauty of the white snow and the runs, the mountains, the air, the atmosphere, the skiing downhill, the exercise, and the fun of it all.

Mulled wine does figure very highly! Coming back to the chalet for home made cake and a roaring log fire, a hot bubble bath to soothe aching muscles, watching the kids hurtle down the slopes with no fear, the fresh air and jumping on my board to set off down some lovely fresh snow.

a week of being outdoors in the beautiful crisp weather :) We had a full week of sunshine on our last trip, which resulted in my first ever proper ski-tan :o Mulled wine, hot chocolate and watching proudly as the DCs progress.

Am really excited about our next trip as we are going self-catering for the first time ever. This might sound odd but I am looking forward to cooking my own idea of a proper skiing breakfast instead of being force-fed cold boiled eggs and porridge a la Esprit!

That gorgeous tiredness after your shower! When after the 2nd glass of wine I have to go to bed for the sweetest , best sleeps ever! Ahh. can't wait!

Fresh fresh air and that look about at the massive mountains and feeling like I am on top of the world Grin

Tartiflette Grin

Oooh yes how could I forget tartiflette?! Always served with salad on the side :o

Being in the beautiful crisp mountain air on a clear sunny day.

Can't beat that, but the vin chaud, tartiflette and puffed out chest feeling of proudness when seeing our dc's progress aren't far behind Grin

The lack of worries; the only concern is to get down the mountain.
Having discovered skiing quite late (40s), I still love the adrenaline rush.
Watching the skill and confidence of the DCs, and feeling that I have given them an experience I never had at that age.

The prospect of going away to the crisp deep white snow of beautiful mountains with a group of friends at February half term is about the only thing that is getting me through this dreary January! I simply cannot wait.
