We've found h and m stuff really good. Lidl are cheaper though !

I've bought my DC loads of winter stuff from H&M, I think they are really good quality for the price

(and I am a total winter gear nerd, it's Klattermusen or nothing darling Grin)

Also really worth checking out Tesco, they have snow clothes that are great value and good enough for a once in a year trip, but the stock comes and goes so you have to be ready to bag your size

For really cold weather down filled stuff IMO is the best .

HM are warm enough for the arctic, so should be good for the uk! Grin
