Booking late - when do prices start to drop?

We're looking to go week beg. 5th March.. right now prices are going up still but i assume at some point they'll start to go down.. does anybody know when this turn usually happens?

Slight complication is that we have to travel from Scotland.. the price and hassle of getting down south is just too much.

Thanks.

We booked with Esprit between Xmas and New Year to depart on 16th Jan. The prices had gone down slightly but after we booked went down another £100. So that would have been 7 or 8 days before departure.

We always wait till a week before we want to go to book, the worst being the previous day!
However we live about an hour from Gatwick.
Have you looked at Bulgaria? Amazing place.

fluffles · 23/01/2011 20:48

Bulgaria keeps coming up on searches but ski areas are really far far too small for us - i did a 50mile day one day last year Grin

obsessive? moi??

anyway, we live in scotland and tbh the bulgarian ski areas don't look that much bigger than the two biggest scottish ones.

Good advice there about timing though, maybe we need to think about booking during week beg. 21st feb for a 5 March dep?

Oh, I am interested too.

I agree, Bulgaria looks too small (not the country as such, but the skiing areas).

And we need want to fly from Scotland as well - I am NOT travelling to Manchester or wherever with 2xDSs in tow!

I was quite keen on Austria but apparently they only depart every other Saturday??

I will watch with interest if you don't mind and pass on what our local v v clever travel agent will come up with too, if you want Wink.

pacificdogwood would love to know what your travel agent comes up with.

we're using this site: www.airportdirecttravel.co.uk/Edinburgh/ but also happy to drive to glasgow (but probably not prestwick).
