fyling on sunday... BRISTOL AIRPORT -worried about weather forecast

i gather that Bristol remained open during the snow at the beginning of the month. am still worried though. we drive down from sussex to bristol on Saturday for an early sunday flight to lapland. this whole weather warning thing is confusing. forecast keeps changing! is the really bad weather expected only in the north?

anyone else worried?

so wish we were going from gatwick but we couldnt get a flight...

I'm in Bristol and everything is clear here at the moment - the latest forecast is just for light snow on Saturday and nothing on Sunday, so I'd say there's a good chance you'll be fine. We don't tend to get as much here as most other places.

Well we're due out of Gatwick early Sunday and are still worried ! Forecast is dire for late Saturday :(

liz, we live half an hour from gatwick. our forecast for saturday is heavy rain. 4 degrees. yet gatwick is forecast heavy snow!

we will have to leave early on saturday to go to bristol... what if we wake up early and its a white out! we have a 3.5 hr drive on a good day...

I know it's mad how much variation there is. We are about 20 minutes north of Gatwick, had it bad a few weeks ago . Trouble is we are going for such a short time it'll be hardly worthwhile if we get delayed long :(

well according to the met office, we're in real trouble. but not toworry, bbc weather say the weather will be fine! Hmm

Due to fly to Switzerland tomorrow on Easyjet. They've cancelled all flights today so not hopeful for tomorrow. Friends had their flight from Heathrow cancelled yesterday and it is currently a complete whiteout :( Hope you got off ok Noonar

my husband is cuurently trying to fly in to Bristol. He has been trying to get home from Amsterdam since this time yesterday. He managed to get to Brussels in the early hours of this morning and was due to leave Brussels at 9 this morning, he is still there...
Bristol airport was shut this mornin until aout 8.00am. The plane he is waiting for was due to leave Bristol at 6.25 but didn't leave until 9 - seems like everyhting has been very delayed but may be moving now so hopefully tomorrow you will be ok! Fingers crossed
