Recommendation for hotel/auberge en route near Meribel - perhaps Albertville?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel/auberge en route to Meribel please - it's just for one night as we drive down to the Alps from Calais?

Ideally within an hour's drive or less of Meribel so we can hit the slopes nice and early on the first day.

It'll be for four of us - parents and two teenagers - somewhere typically French would be great in the hope that dd can practise her budding GCSE French (anyone know what OMG is in French)?

No help I am afraid, but bumping this as I would like to find a hotel somewhere near for when we drive to Meribel for the same reason!

I had an email this morning with special offers for hotels in the Accor group if you book by 2 November - so have gone ahead and booked
this

It has decent reviews on trip advisor, and we've stopped in Annecy before - pretty little place which will be good for finding a cafe for breakfast on the morning we leave (and possibly dinner the night before, depending on how good our progress is).

We have stayed at and can recommend La Ferme du Champ Pelaz a chambre d'Hote near Annecy - but the owners are English!

I was going to suggest something in Annecy :)
