Please may we have a like/dislike tick box above each post?

I frequently agree with something a poster has said, but have nothing further to add.

Rather than posting a post, or an "I agree with previous poster" post, can we have a tickbox above each post where you can blue/red arrow or like/dislike? And a running total of how many blue/red arrows for the post?

A bit like in the comments section of newspapers, if you see what I mean.

NO ITS NOT FRIGGING FACEBOOK

ClaireDeLoon · 25/05/2010 07:58

If I disagree with a poster but have nothing further to add I just move on without posting. Like/dislike tick boxes sound like some strange popularity contest to me, really don't agree we should have them.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 25/05/2010 08:01

no, no, no.

fishie · 25/05/2010 08:04

southeastastra · 25/05/2010 08:38

like the daily mail website

thought this was a talk board

CMOTdibbler · 25/05/2010 08:39

Yuck. Why would we want that ?

Pennies · 25/05/2010 08:40

The purpose of a forum is discussion. Writing "Like" (or even ticking the "Like" box) is not discussion. If you like or dislike something you must have a reason for it so put some effort in and share your reasons.

BouncingTurtle · 25/05/2010 08:44

Please no. Otherwise it'll be turned into a giant popularity contest!

wannaBe · 25/05/2010 08:46

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 26/05/2010 09:17

No. Nononononononono.

AMumInScotland · 26/05/2010 09:39

Hideous idea! Sorry but no, this forum is meant to be for discussions - if you want to join in a discussion then do - that can just be to say "I agree with Nick" or to give more detail, or to head the conversation in another direction. If you don't have anything to add, just nod quietly to yourself and move on...

30andMerkin · 26/05/2010 09:44

NOooooooooooooo! Daily Bigot-tastic. We're here for wit and informed banter, not clicky-clicky banality.
