Email claiming to be from Mumsnet for entry into an exclusive money prize draw?

Can you clarify if this is real or if anyone else has had this?

I just deleted the email without reading as it went into my spam box the sender was just mumsnet not mumsnet team as per normal emails.

My concern is that i have not given out this email address on the forum and only use it for entering competitions as its my registered email address.

I had this too, it is the one they were asking for people to sign up to earlier in the week, about a soft drink company. I think it is genuine (hope so as I have done it!)

NoahAndTheWhale · 20/05/2010 20:35

Did you enter the competition recently that said there would be a survey? Will try and find the thread.

I contacted mumsnet about this, and it is fine. Had completely forgotten I'd signed up for it.....

EccentricaGallumbits · 20/05/2010 20:40

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 20/05/2010 20:41

I've just done it - I remembered signing up for the survey,

Glad it's all ok!

Katz · 20/05/2010 20:42

oops it was because it came from mumsnet not mumsnet team which is what my last email from them was - will have to ask for it again!

Hello. Sorry to be a bit late in spotting this.

But yes, tis all above board.

You should have been sent this email if you signed up to take part in some research about soft drinks on behalf of Mumsnet via this thread

Apologies that it all looked so spammy suspicious: as we said to orangina, the mail should have opened with "Thank you for signing up to this special research panel on Mumsnet" - we'll feed that omission back to our client.

Katz · 21/05/2010 09:39

any chance you could re-send it then i'll complete it! sorry

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 21/05/2010 09:41

Helen - you may wish to remove that reference to your client! The survey is anonymous and they may not want their name to be known before people take it.

HelenMumsnet · 21/05/2010 12:15

BIWI, I didn't name them, did I

Don't think I revealed any more than we did when we were recruiting...

SpringyWho · 21/05/2010 12:19

I think Helen meant this:

BitOfFun · 21/05/2010 12:21

Perhaps we get the mascots we deserve? Two garishly-clad penises. Great.

BitOfFun · 21/05/2010 12:22

Wrong thread. Oops

HelenMumsnet · 21/05/2010 12:22

Aha! Yes (thank you, SpringyWho), I was indeed talking about orangina the poster, not orangina the soft drink...

BitOfFun · 21/05/2010 12:24

Who are in no way related to penises. At all.

BecauseImWorthIt · 21/05/2010 15:30

Sorry to panic you, Helen!
