Just a thought, can we please have a facility in advanced search where you can look for threads started by a particular poster?

Pretty please

We already have one.

bratnav · 17/05/2010 12:25

where?

I can see that we can search for posts by a particular poster, but where is the 'threads started by' search?

Oh right. Sorry. It is the 'posts by' and not 'started by' I can see.

champagnesupernova · 17/05/2010 12:30

But if a post is by someone you can still find it whether it's OP or not.

bratnav · 17/05/2010 12:55

I know, I am probably being lazy really, it's just I was looking for a therad and the poster is quite prolific and I couldn't remember which section they had posted it under so I had to trawl through LOADS of threads to find it.

I second your request bratnav.

I'd like a much more sophisticated search facility, tbh. For instance, search on a keyword, but not if another keyword appears.

Possibly predictive text on nicknames?
Find posts by part of nickname etc.

But it's OK without, really.

bratnav · 17/05/2010 21:15

so just Jux and I then?

Hmm
Dunno about this one - I'll find out whether this is feasible.

bibbitybobbityhat · 17/05/2010 23:09

Bratnav if you select Display Thread Titles Only in the first list of options, that will search out the threads started by a particular poster.

SoMuchToBits · 17/05/2010 23:12

I think it would be a good idea. I wouldn't have many though - I post quite a bit, but very rarely start threads

Actually it's not because I'm lazy, it's because I think no-one will be interested in what I want to post about!

bratnav · 18/05/2010 12:11

Thanks bibbity, I had no idea it was that simple

Hello - and thanks, bibbity - you beat me to it!
