Right, I can MN everywhere on my new wonderful HTC Desire, which I know you IT Guys will appreciate.

But, namechanged for election night and got bumped out and had to relogin.

And found I couldn't! Is this a problem with your login pages on Android, or my phone?

So, what happened was I couldn't resize the login pages, so it stays VERY small and difficult therefore to hit the 'login' button.

And normally, it just autocompletes with my name/password, but because I had namechanged, clearly I had to re-enter my details. So ws HORRIFIED to find when I clicked the data entry box, no keyboard popped up. At all.

So is that bit of the site Android-friendly? Or is it my problem? Or wot? Have not had this problem on any other site I use...

Since my bastard network won't let me have an iphone despite having paid them zillions been loyal for over ten years I have NO interest whatever in the development of an app.
(but don't worry Justine's on it, she's just a bit busy being on telly tonight)

Yoo hoo Olivia, Tech seems to have got lost on his way here... I NEED to be able to MN on an android..

Has tech got an answer for me? I still can't manage to log in again from my phone. Which is a massive pain for mobile MN.

I really don't think it is my end as don't have this problem on any other site with login (Amazon, Ebay etc...)

Davidhameron - as a bypass in the mean time, click on mymumsnet, enter your talk name (not email as suggested) & password - keyboard is fine here. Click login - it won't obviously as you entered wrong info. If you then go to normal login page this info will be remembered & auto populate.

Tech - convoluted & unnecessary work around. Fix it soon please

Yup, hello, will put on list. It's tricky for us to reproduce here as we don't have any Android phones, but we are looking at cleaning up the login forms at the moment, so that should sort it.

Of course, any donated G1s, Desires, Nexus (Nexi?), Incredibles, Heros, etc will be sure to go to a good home.....

Glad it's on the list I have suggested elsewhere that Olivia gets an Android; failing that I reckon you could make a good case for one on expenses TomTech (you know you want to it is fab!!)

I have an Android phone TomTech! So let us put aside our petty partisan considerations; let us forget our past differences and recognise that this is indeed a new era of Mumsnet techyness - an era of both Apple and Android communications devices standing side-by-side with old laptops, as one. So I say we CAN work together on this and together, with hard work, patience and a new spirit of openness we can bring Mumsnetting to the many, not just the few. (In a few weeks, that is).

BIWI there is no way in this world I am entering an android/apple coalition, I've always seen Iphones as a reasonably right wing operation all that protectionism; Androids are definately left wing - verging on communism I'd say

Chaos - just asked DH for you (he told me originally & I too have little idea..) Basically it means no new updates. Everything you have currently will still be fine but new stuff & applications probably won't work. Shouldn't really be too bad apart from the shiny new MN app not being available ;)

thanks for the workaround: it almost works, or at least works 1 time in about 10

It goes so far with the autopopulating, but at the very last 'you are now logged in to MN' screen, it fails: you can't close it properly. You can close it, but it just takes you back to the log in screen.

Double Argh.

Come on MNHQ, pay those techs some overtime in Brut and Pot Noodles, and let 'em loose on the Android app. Puhleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese.

Davidhameron -sorry it's not working for you - when I get to that screen I can click on the link that says to close this window click here & it always works for me (my biggest problem is clicking on the box to say yes remember me - although given that it never does I don't know why I bother.. )

But I agree we need a proper solution & WE NEED IT NOW
